When your graduate walks down the aisle, hope you have taken the time to think of a “proper” graduation gift for them. It’s a huge accomplishment and a major life event! Treat it that way!
Yes many years have passed since my graduation from Notre Dame Academy for Girls (Miami, Florida) in 1972. The day was an awesome day! So glad to know that a local and prominent university – University of Miami, Coral Gables, Florida – had not only accepted me as a student, but had given me a generous financial aid package comprised of grants, student loans and a college work-study program to help me pay for my BBA degree.
BTW College Work-Study is a beautiful thing! First of all you’re guaranteed to have some sort of part-time job and it teaches you responsibility. Know what my work-study job was? Worked in the Financial Aid Office! You got that right that! Made sure to keep an eye on my financial aid package to ensure that my college education was paid for!!
Nevertheless, with respect to the graduation gifts received on that great and notable day at Barry University Auditorium when the graduating Class of 1972 walked down the aisle, across the stage, received their diplomas, and were granted official entrance into the world of adulthood?
Don’t remember not one gift that was given to me. Why? Because there were none! My family was just happy to see me graduate!! God bless them, each and every one!
