Fred Thompson, Dead at 73 Years Old

Actor and senator, Fred Thompson has passed away at 73 years of age.  If you’ve been seeing this around the Internet and wondering if it is one of those fake deaths, it’s not.  Fred Thompson has indeed passed on.

Fred Thompson was a U.S. senator from 1994 to 2003 and also served on the Watergate Committee as counsel. He has been credit for coming up with the question, asked by Howard Baker, “What did the president know and when did he know it?”, which many believe led to the downfall of Richard Nixon.  In 2007 he tried to get back into politics by running for President in the Republican party.  Despite having the backing of several pro-life organizations, he dropped out of the running later in 2008. 

He was also a well known actor.  He played D.A. Arthur Branch on the hit television series, Law & Order. He also had roles in many big budget Hollywood movies like Cape Fear, Die Hard 2, and The Hunt for Red October.

Over his life time he was also a columnist, a radio host, an attorney, and 

He passed away on November 1, 2015, from cancer (lymphoma), which he had been battling for some time.
