Google Plus Collections Feature

Trying the new Google Plus Collections feature.

May 4, 2015, there was an official announcement.

Introducing Google+ Collections, group your posts by topic

  • Have you tried the Google Plus Collections feature?
  • Do you have Pinterest boards?
  • Have an opinion regarding Collections versus Pinboards?

The Collections could be interpreted as the G+ answer to Pinterest. Or not. For me, it’s not. It’s just another free tool or resource to increase my online presence, enhance my web reputation, build my business brand, and grow my home businesses (freelance writing, affiliate advertising, and blogging). Many entrepreneurs, mompreneurs, WAHMs, and other business-minded Google+ users seem to appreciate being given the capability of grouping their posts to make it easier to refer back to and/or retrieve their shares and for others to find what they have shared. As with Pinterest, once you create your G+ Collections, others can choose to follow.

Not sure what to expect from this new feature, but since the tab already appeared on my G+ profile and business pages, figured … Why not give it a try?

My first attempts so far have been to categorize topics for my foodie business page, Everyday Exotic Spices.   Created 3 Collections labeled:

  • CHEESE Meltdown;
  • PIZZA Cravings; and
  • WORLD Cuisine.

EES Collections

Where to next? Not a clue. It’s an adventure! Just set up my groupings 3 days ago and don’t have a prediction. However, can say (1) it’s easy and fun; and (2) it appears these Collections are going to add value to my overall Internet experience, business-wise and otherwise.
