As a DJ and Electronic Music Producer I constantly get asked why I make music that isn’t “real.” I originally got into music via piano and saxophone – I played piano for 10 years and saxophone for 7. My main specialty is classical and jazz respectfully before I got into electronic music.
After being into music for so long I can understand why some musicians don’t look at electronic music as real music. The key is that you have to look at music in a different way – electronic music is more about the production as oppose to the arrangement.
This is why, as a music producer, most of my music has a strong arrangement aspect in addition to the production aspect. In the video above I talk more in-depth about electronic music in relation to other genres of music.
