I’ve been a loom knitter for several years, and I’ve used just about every size, shape and brand. I think that Knifty Knitter brand looms are the best. They’re sturdy, and they feel right in my hand. I love them! I use them to make everything from scarves to handbags, and I’ve been wanting another set. While searching to see if Provo Craft had anything new, I made a very sad discovery. Knifty Knitter Looms will no longer be available. According to a Knifty Knitter Facebook page post from 2012, Provo Craft is stopping production. They surely have by now, but most loom knitters are still unaware. As far as I know, it was never officially announced.
They Won’t Last Forever
Although I have a set of round and long Knifty Knitter looms, they won’t last forever. I checked Michael’s and Hobby Lobby, and they no longer carry them. Knifty Knitter Looms will no longer be available at major craft stores. I don’t like the quality of their replacements, and I don’t want them. They have fair reviews, but I consider materials and design inferior to what I’m used to. Like many other Knifty Knitter fans, I’m going to stock up before the prices skyrocket. As people find out and sets begin to completely sell out, the prices will go up.
Buy at Amazon
Knifty Knitter Looms Will No Longer Be Available Anywhere
Some Amazon retailers have already started raising their prices, but others must not realize the situation. Thankfully I found a set online that hasn’t been doubled or tripled in price, but their numbers are very limited. I want to buy the Genuine Knifty Knitter Round Loom Set with Four Looms, Hook & Bag. I could care less about the bag and the hook, but they are included. I found another set that includes two round looms, a flower loom and a long loom.
As of right now, they only have 13 left!
All Good Things Must Come to an End
Why is it that all good things must come to an end? I’ve heard that saying many times, and I’ve found it to be true. If you find something that you like, don’t wait to buy it. Hesitate for any reason and you might never have another chance. Knifty Knitter looms will no longer be available, but many great products are no longer around. Instead of companies selling the plans and/or rights to another manufacturer, they simply scrap the product. I’ve learned to jump on discontinued products before they’re gone for good, and I’m not hesitating on this one.
