Start by snipping off the blooms from artificial stems. You should have one for every shoe. Next, glue the blooms to the shoes using the top photo as a guide. Simply attach the blooms to the center of the straps. Alternate the direction of the shoes as the sides are glued together. They’ll fit together like a puzzle. Allow the adhesive to dry completely before handling further.
After the glue has fully dried, attach the ribbon for hanging. Turn over your row of decorated flip flops, and staple the end of the ribbon to the back of each sandal on the ends. Add a dot of glue to reinforce the attachment. Let it dry completely before hanging it on a door or a wall.
Faux Tropical Flowerheads are Ideal for Decorating Flip Flops
If flowers aren’t quite your style, how about using alternate ways to decorate your flip flops. Use other beach-themed embellishments instead of flowers. You could attach starfish, sand dollars, or other preserved sea life. Beautiful seashells would also look great. Simply wire them onto the straps, or glue them in place. You could also add paper twist bows, colorful buttons, eye-catching beach glass, faux gems, crystals, and more. Now that you know how to make a flip flop wall hanging, what would you add? I personally love colorful tropical flowers. Paper twist bows with small seashells in the centers would also look great. The options are endless! You could even add metal bells if you wish.
