My Bebe Love Greeted By Long Lines

Aldub fans flocked to the movie houses as My Bebe Love movie screened on its first day.  This movie is the debut film of the popular Aldub love team from the GMA network.  Maine Mendoza and Alden Richards star along with Vic Sotto and Ai Ai delas Alas.  This movie promised to ‘kilig’ the fans.  A jump from their TVs during the Kalyeserye, to the big screen.

In SM City Dasmarinas (as seen on the picture), the lines stretched from the cinema cashier to the edge of one wing of the mall.  The mall opened at 12 noon.  The photo was taken around 1 PM and it was at a standstill for hours.  Loyal fans of all ages (from kids to senior citizes) bear the line, wait, and inconveniences just to watch their favorite TV personalities and support them on their first movie.  Some even waited early in the morning, before the mall opened, just to be the first in line. The sudden influx of movie goers stuffed a million pesos into the box office during the first hour of screening (8 AM), according to director Jose Javier Reyes (in a GMA network interview).    Direk Joey thanked the supporters and fans for watching the movie. 

This movie is an entry to the Metro Manila Film Festival, an annual event that starts on Christmas day in the Philippines.  A total of eight entries joined the festival.  The other entries are: Beauty and the Beastie by ABS-CBN Film Productions Inc and Viva Films, Buy Now Die Later by Quantum Films, Haunted Mansion by Regal Entertainment, Inc, All You Need Is Pag Ibig by ABS-CBN Film Productions Inc, Nilalang (The Entity) by Haunted Towers Pictures, Inc and Walang Forever by Quantum Films.  Out of all the films, die-hard Aldub fans expected their idols to smash records and win the film festival.
