My Gypsy Dream

I have a gypsy dream.  I want to live a mobile life.  I want to be able to go where I want when I want.

This is how I envision it.

My husband and I would wake up when we are ready to wake up. I’d have some coffee,  he’d have water or a Coke.  We’d sit in our camp chairs and watch the lake, the birds, the squirrels for awhile.  Then, we’d pack up and get ready to move on to our next destination.  Hitch up the trailer and be on the road.

We’d drive for a few hours, maybe the day, maybe more.  If longer than a day we’d stop and get a room in a cheap motel.

Before we reach our destination, we’d stop somewhere in a town that had a library or Internet cafe where we could hook up our Alphasmart Neos and upload the writing we’d done over the previous two weeks. We’d create some covers for our books. We’d add the stories to Amazon, Kobo, iTunes, Barnes & Noble and let them become ready for people to buy.  We’d stop at a bank and take out whatever deposits might have been made. We’d buy some groceries, stock up on fresh water, gas, and whatever other things we’d discovered that we needed for the next few weeks.

Oh, and we’d send some emails and make some phone calls to let our loved ones know what was going on and that we’re all good.

Then we’d be on the road again until we got to the next boondocking station that would allow us to camp for awhile.

Then we’d unload everything, set up camp. Then relax for the rest of the day.

The next day, we’d get back to our lives – writing and enjoying the peace and quiet of nature.

Will this ever actually happen? Who knows. But everyone has to have a dream right? And this is my gypsy dream.
