It has been a while since I was as enthralled by a TV show as I was by Timeless. The premise is rather far fetched, time travel but it is a fascinating premise that lets us dream about how changes to the past would affect the present.
In this first week the unlikely three time travelers, Abigail Spencer (Lucy), Matt Lanter (Wyatt) and Malcolm Barrett (Rufus) must travel back to 1937 . The history professor, soldier, and the scientist will try to stop the protagonist Goran Visnjic (Garcia Flynn) from changing history. The fact that Rufus is African American makes traveling to the past particularly dangerous for him.
Plenty of action followed as history was changed when the Hindenburg didn’t crash on the day it had originally crashed on and the people who were killed were different. Lucy comes face to face with Garcia who tells her to question the people who are sending her and the others to time travel. What is their motivation?
When Lucy arrives home, her mother is no longer dying and her sister Amy no longer exists. She is left stunned by how changing what happened in 1937 led to this change in the present. I can’t wait for next week when they are going back to 1865 on the day of Lincolns assassination. If you like science fiction and plenty of action, give this show a try. Monday nights at 10 p.m. on NBC.
