Nut Free Lactation Cookie Recipe

     For most breastfeeding mothers, you may sometimes find it difficult to keep your supply up to standards to successfully keep up with your little one. There are several remedies out there for different foods or supplements you can try to help boost your supply. Instead of buying store bought supplements, you can try making this simple nut free lactation cookie recipe. It offers many of the essentials to help your body produce more than enough milk for your baby. 

Ingredients: 

-1 cup butter

-1 cup sugar

-1 cup brown sugar

-4 tablespoons water

-2 tablespoons Flax seed

-2 eggs

-1 tsp Vanilla

-2 cups flour

-1 tsp baking soda

-1 tsp salt

-3 cups oats

-1 cup chocolate chips

-3 tablespoons brewers yeast 

Directions:

1.)  Preheat oven to 350 degrees

2.) Mix flax seed and water and allow to sit for 5 minutes. 

3.) Beat butter, sugar and brown sugar thoroughly, then beat the eggs into the mixture. 

4.) Add vanilla to the flax seed and water fix. 

5.) Sift together flour, brewers yeast, baking soda and salt. 

6.) Add the dry ingredients to the butter mix.

7.) Stir in the oats and chocolate chips 

8.) Scoop onto baking sheet ( standard spoonful for each cookie)

9.) Bake for approx 12 minutes or until golden

10.) Let cook for at least 20 minutes before eating. 

    This recipe will make a larger batch, roughly 30 cookies. Eating 2-4 a day will help boost your supply, though the more you consume, the higher potential for more milk. Plus they’re tasty and easy to make! Enjoy!
