PBA Legends supports Jaworski bid as National team head coach

Philippine Basketball living legend Robert Jaworski is gaining support from former PBA stars and national team members for him to take the challenge as the next head coach of the Gilas Pilipinas men’s national basketball team.

PBA legend and former national team mainstay Benjie Paras, Ronnie Magsanoc and Jerry Codinera backs Jaworski’s bid to lead our national team for next year international joust. The 3 basketball legends expressed same sentiments that Jaworski is a great coach and motivator and even though he was away from head coaching a team for a decade or so or in the international arena two decades ago he can easily adapt and adjust once given the chance. They also said that Jaworski as a head coach see to it that he has a good personal relationship with his players which in return players responds well to him during games. His never say die attitude is also perfect for the rough and grind international competition.




Paras and Magsanoc played under Jaworski when he led the national team for a silver medal in the 1990 Asian Games.

 They are all now active as a head coach or as an assistant coach in the collegiate levels. Benjie Paras as an assistant coach for the 5 time NCAA champions San Beda red lions, Magsanoc as an assistant coach for the Ateneo blue eagles and head coach for Hapee in the PBA D-league and Codinera as a head coach for the Arellano University.
