Chickadee

Chickadee

Chickadee flitting through the leafless trees,
Singing a song with some chirps and some ‘dees’,
Looking for buds, for some berries and seeds –
There’s not much for supper to meet all your needs.

Flying in scallops pinned onto the air;
Joy that is visible, glad you are there.
In  your puffy wee suit feathers keep out the cold,
And that black cap and bib are so cute to behold.

You are curious about Two Legs and all that you see
As you flit through the branches and fly around me.
Have you figured  us out? I would sure like to know
What you think about us as you come and you go.
