Lost in a Daydream
April 9, 2016

As I stand there looking out my wet, foggy window
At the angry storm looming in the distance
I find myself lost in a day dream…

I am standing by the waterfall
That leads to a beautiful stream
Where the stones create a path
To the beauty that lies on the other side

There fields of daisies surround
Birds echo their romantic song
The sun brightens its surroundings
And the cool breeze caresses

This daydream is refreshing for my soul
And at least for the time being makes me believe
That you can always find a piece of beauty
Even in the ugliest things that life can throw your way

Another word list for a writing challenge: waterfall, breeze, sun, refreshing, stone, stream, daisies, birds.

There are times when I stand there looking out the window and find myself lost in thought, pondering about my life, or lost in a daydream. And this in part is what inspired this poem. There is always something positive, something beautiful in any negative or bad thing that can fall upon you. You just have to believe it and you will find it. And if you believe it, you will have hope, and having hope is a much needed thing in life, especially today.
