Ever thought that your Pinterest activity or account could be used to develop your psychological profile? Hmmm? Probably why they have secret boards, huh? (J.K.)
Pinterest was launched in 2010 and as soon as it was started, my personal account was set up. Recently, the site owners allowed me to convert it to a free business account. My Pinterest account has always been used with the aim of complementing or supplementing my home business objectives, so my response to their conversion invitation was swift. Recent traffic statistics, gathered by independent third parties, indicate that FOOD is one of the most popular topics on Pinterest. What a shock! Right? Out of the 42 Pinterest boards for my account, 7 are devoted to eating!
My first board, Everyday Exotic Spices , was created to support my affiliate marketing website where folks can shop online 24/7 for herbs and spices. But the other Food and Drink boards – All Good Recipes; CHICKEN Recipes; DRINKS; GOURMET; POMEGRANATES; and Recipes for Vegans – as well as the items of interests pinned on the remaining 35 boards, resulted from the combined efforts of:
me – trying to keep it “professional” and share biz-related pins and redirect traffic to my sites and blogs and articles; and
me – being totally unable to control myself! 🙂
Pinning is extremely addictive. Addictive and also very revealing. The stuff you collect and share says a lot about your character. My psychological profile practically screams at visitors!
Clearly this lady likes eating!
She loves this planet and the people who live on it; and
has an obvious appreciation for art, history (including legends), books, movies, and music;
has concerns about health and education; also, equality and human rights;
believes charity is the greatest gift;
likes to be spontaneous or random, in an orderly fashion (O.o); and
thinks people have the right to be purposeful, productively and gainfully employed.
SECRET BOARDS: The option to make your board a secret board is presented each time you create a board. So some boards can be public and some private. None of my pinboards are secret. Au contraire! Working daily to get my online escapades picked up by SEO radar is Priority Task Numero Uno!!!
GROUP BOARDS: You can also have a group board. Create a board and invite others to contribute pins. Neat feature! If you have fellow pinners who share the same interests, all of you can work together promoting on Pinterest and keep related pins in one location. Makes it easier for people who are searching and seeking information on that particular topic.
Do you maintain boards on Pinterest? Feel free to share your account URL in the Comments section. What do yours say about your character or personality traits? Do we share any common interests or are we complete opposites? It’s cool if we are. They say opposites attract. Get very tired and bored with me. Would love a new and fresh personality injection!! 🙂

** ONE FINAL TIP: Remember in the movie “The Graduate” the guy pulls Dustin Hoffman off to the side at the party to give him a tip that would secure his future. He said one word: “plastics”. Yeah well my tip is one phrase: ménage à trois. Uh huh. Hook up your Pinterest, Twitter and Tumblr accounts.
