The young player will sign a contract for City for four years with a weekly wage of 278,000 euros, which is twice more than 140,000 euros that he was offered to stay at Anfield.
With this transfer Sterling became the most expensive English player in history, and the second most expensive British after Welshman Gareth Bale who in 2013 moved to Real Madrid from Tottenham for 90 million euros.
Sterling transfer should be formally completed this week after medical examination.
Sterling was a member of the Reds since 2012, when he arrived at Anfield from Queens Park Rangers. It is a Jamaican who was born in Kingston, but he played for all ages England team. In the senior part he accumulated 16 appearances and one goal.
