Maybe the cold Northern Irish weather got to Rory this weekend as he suffered a bad game at the Irish Open. He may be too used to the warmer golf he’s been playing around the world. The 26 year old native from Northern Ireland shot a nine over par of 80 which included 9 bogies to end up last amongst all the players at the time.

Rory had attracted many big names hosting the Irish Open at The Royal County Down, but the wind and rain may have been his undoing. This was one of his top four worst rounds since 2007. Despite his loss, Rory stated he was very proud to host the event and to bring the tournament to Northern Ireland and congratulated the Open’s winner Soren Kjeldsen.

Soren Kjeldsen was the big winner this weekend when he won a three-way-play-off on the 18th hole with Eddie Pepperell and Bernd Weisberger.
