Five Easy Snacks That You and Pusheen are Sure to Love

Why do we love Pusheen? Because she’s a lazy, tubby tabby cat that loves to eat snacks almost as much as we do! Everyone knows that Pusheen loves nap time, but if there’s one thing that she loves even more then it’s definitely snack time. And that’s something we can all relate to.

If you regularly shop Pusheen soft toys then you will see that an incredible number of Pusheen collectibles focus on the kitty eating. To keep you and your kitty full during the long winter months, here are five easy snack ideas that you and Pusheen are bound to love:

1. Easy Quesadillas
Pusheen loves cheeseburgers, so she’s sure to love this recipe for cheesy gooey quesadillas that are so easy to make!

Take two soft tortillas. Lay one on the surface and fill with cheese (leaving a 2cm border around the edge) then place the other on top. Melt 15g of butter in a small pan, then once it is melted fry your quesadilla in the pan, turning once. The quesadilla is cooked when little bubbles appear on the surface of the tortilla. Remove, slice, and serve with salsa or sour cream for an indulgent and satisfying snack.

2. Microwave Chocolate Cake
Everyone loves chocolate cake, but did you know that you can make your own using just four ingredients, a mug, and the microwave in your room? Here’s how!

Take 3 tablespoons of peanut butter, 1 egg, half a table spoon of tbsp cocoa and 2 tablespoons of sugar. Using the same spoon you measured your ingredients with (to save on washing up!) mix the ingredients together in a mug. Pop the mug in the microwave for one minute and voila! An easy, gooey, delicious chocolate cake perfect for indulging your sweet tooth and enjoying an easy late night snack.

3. Roasted Cinnamon Chickpeas
Pusheen may life on a staple diet of junk food, but that doesn’t mean you have to! This healthy alternative to popcorn is easy to make and tastes so good even the tubby tabby would be fooled!

Drain and rinse two tins of chickpeas, remove a much water as possible, then toss in a bowl. Drizzle two teaspoons of oil over the top then add three tablespoons of cinnamon sugar. Mix until the chickpeas are evenly covered then spread them on a baking sheet, then place them in a hot oven for 1 hour. Remove, cool, and enjoy!

Chocolate Pizza

4. Chocolate Pizza
Love chocolate? Love pizza? Then you’re going to love this! Take a pre-packaged pizza base (you can buy these inexpensively from any grocery store) and spread liberally with chocolate spread. Add chocolate buttons, chopped nuts, and several fluffy white marshmallows.

When your pizza is constructed, pop it in the oven or grill for a few minutes until the marshmallow has melted and looks just like pizza cheese. Slice and enjoy the most unhealthy, decadent and delicious pizza you’ll ever eat!

5. Toasted Tortillas
If you love to eat a bag of chips on the sofa as much as Pusheen does then you’re going to love these easy toasted tortillas. Simply grab a bag of tortilla chips and spread them over a baking sheet. What you add next will depend on what you have in your fridge (which is what makes this versatile dish so popular with students) but we love throwing on diced tomatoes, a little chopped pre-cooked bacon, some chillis and salsa.

Add some grated cheese and grill until the cheese starts to bubble, leaving you with a crunchy, gooey, cheesy and incredibly satisfying Pusheen-friendly snack for any time of the day.
