When You’re Counting Down the Minutes

I have a really bad habit.

When I have to work at my waitressing job in the evening (or afternoon in this case) I can’t get anything done because my brain counts down the minutes until I have to get ready for work.

It’s currently 1:40 PM so I have 20 minutes before I have to get off the computer and start getting ready to go to work.

I need half an hour to walk to work and half an hour to get ready for work. So, since I work at 3 PM I have to start getting ready for work at 2 PM.  I actually don’t need quite that much time but I give myself that much time just in case something comes up – like a cat puking on my work pants or something! LOL.  In my house that does happen from time to time.

For the most part, I don’t work a lot of evening/afternoon shifts but when I do my day is totally wasted before I actually have to leave for work.  No matter what I attempt to do – writing, housework, admin stuff for the sites – I’m constantly thinking about when I have to start getting ready for work.

Maybe if I got up a lot earlier I wouldn’t focus on the time so much.

Sigh….

My constant battle. LOL 🙂
